We're expecting baby goats and baby bunnies anytime now! We're getting a spot ready in our shed (next to our house) with a heat lamp for Stella (goat) and Daphne (bunny) came in the house this past weekend...it's too cold for babies out there! We'll post when the babies arrive :)

Happy Valentine's Day Farm Friends! We got a wicked snow storm yesterday into this morning and another one on the way Saturday night into Sunday (another 8-12")...I'm pretty sure we need it ;)  We just got a phone call from Bumpa that our lowline angus bull calf was born this morning! What should we name him? Valentino, perhaps?

Well Folks, 6 more weeks of winter it is! We won't let that get us down...our chickens have started giving us 1 egg a day (doesn't sound very exciting to some, but we haven't had 1 egg a day all winter)! We're planning out our gardens and what we'll be planting this year (hoping to have veggies and flowers coming out of our ears)! AND we may have 1 bred goat, possibly due March :)

The critters have been enjoying the warm weather while it lasts! We're putting the last few touches on the barn before Buddy comes home this weekend...finally! We're getting ready to breed our Mini Lops for Easter Bunnies! We're also getting ready to place a chick/duckling/turkey order, as we lost a lot of our birds to a fox (we think). We're thinking Spring :)

I'm not sure we needed a second rain/ice storm so soon, but that's Maine for ya! The critters are all fed and trying to stay dry and so are we! Hoping the weather straightens out and we get snow instead of rain and warmer temps instead of below zero...anyone with me?

I picked up the new bunnies Saturday! They seem to be settling in nicely :) Yesterday, Jamison helped me trim the goat's and sheep's hooves and I wormed everyone before the wicked storm we got...we got a foot of snow! After a cup of coffee and the baby goes down for a nap, I'm headed out to shovel! Jamison will snow blow the rest when he gets home from work. Enjoy the snow everyone! And I'll try to get some pics of the snow to post later :)
